Chief Financial Officer / Finance Director

About the role

An established, regulated financial services firm covering institutional trading, capital markets, investment advisory and alternative investments is looking for an experienced Chief Financial Officer / Finance Director. The role leads financial strategy, governance and regulatory financial oversight, working closely with senior management to support financial performance, operational efficiency and sustainable growth in a regulated investment and trading environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and financial planning
• Oversee financial reporting, management accounts, audits, taxation and internal financial controls
• Ensure compliance with DFSA prudential requirements, including regulatory capital, liquidity and financial reporting obligations
• Manage treasury operations, capital allocation and financial risk exposures
• Provide financial oversight of institutional trading and investment activities, including revenue reporting, reconciliations and counterparty exposures
• Deliver financial analysis and strategic recommendations to the CEO and Board
• Strengthen financial governance, processes and systems while supporting business expansion
• Lead and develop the finance function, ensuring accuracy, accountability and regulatory compliance

Required profile

• Approximately 10-15+ years of finance experience, including senior leadership within financial services
• Strong background in investment banking, institutional brokerage, capital markets, trading or investment management
• Experience with DIFC/DFSA regulatory requirements, particularly prudential reporting and capital adequacy, highly desirable
• Professional qualification as an accountant (ACA, ACCA, ICAEW, ICAS, CA(SA), CPA or CIMA)
• Commercially astute, strategic and hands-on, with strong stakeholder management and leadership skills
