Chief Financial Officer – Global Commodity Trading

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Global Chief Financial Officer to build and lead a central finance platform that supports multiple trading desks in a physical agricultural and soft commodities business. Based in Dubai, the CFO will provide structure, consistency and control as the organisation expands globally.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and develop a central finance and operational platform for worldwide trading desks.
• Lead global finance, financial control, reporting and consolidation across a multi‑entity, multi‑currency business.
• Oversee IFRS reporting, financial planning, budgeting and management reporting.
• Manage banking relationships and trade finance facilities, including borrowing bases, transactional facilities and credit insurance.
• Develop and implement robust financial controls, processes and systems to support growth.
• Partner with senior management on strategic decisions, business expansion and the global operating model.

Required profile

• 12–18 years of relevant experience, including at least five years in physical agricultural or soft commodity trading.
• Proven track record building and scaling a finance function from scratch.
• Qualified accountant with ACA, ACCA or CPA credentials; CFA is a plus.
• Strong leadership skills with experience managing international finance teams.

Required skills

• IFRS consolidation in a complex, multi‑entity, multi‑currency environment.
• Commodity trade finance, including banking relationships, borrowing bases, transactional facilities and credit insurance.
• Financial planning, budgeting and management reporting.
• Implementation of financial controls, processes and systems.
