Chief Operating Officer (COO)

About the role

The Chief Operating Officer will lead operations across multiple markets and service lines, translating strategy into execution and ensuring operational performance aligns with business objectives. Reporting directly to the CEO, the COO will build the people, processes and systems needed for sustained growth.

Key responsibilities

• Convert company strategy into annual operating plans, budgets and measurable priorities.
• Lead operations across centres, territories and service lines to ensure reliable service delivery and business continuity.
• Drive operating profit, manage costs and implement corrective actions for under‑performing locations.
• Optimise staffing, rostering, clinician utilisation and transport to improve capacity and cost per visit.
• Strengthen the patient journey, partner with clinical leaders on safety, complaints and regulatory compliance.
• Develop managers, set clear KPIs and conduct performance reviews.
• Align Operations with Finance, HR, IT, Quality and commercial teams to remove bottlenecks.
• Prepare operational readiness for new centres, markets, services and partnerships.
• Standardise procedures, enhance dashboards and improve scheduling, billing and reporting systems.
• Maintain operational controls, escalation protocols and contingency plans while respecting clinical authority.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare management, business administration or related field; MBA preferred.
• Minimum 12 years of relevant experience, including at least five years in senior operational leadership.
• Proven responsibility for healthcare operations across multiple locations with sizable teams.
• Experience in home healthcare, doctor‑on‑call or clinic networks strongly preferred.
• GCC healthcare experience and familiarity with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
• Demonstrated success improving profitability, workforce productivity, patient experience and operational systems.
