Chief Technology Officer - Autonomous Systems

About the role

A fast-growing technology company in Dubai that develops advanced autonomous systems is recruiting a hands-on Chief Technology Officer. The technical team is around 20 people, and the role calls for someone who can set the technical direction and get involved in the engineering detail. The CTO owns the technology vision, roadmap and execution, leads the engineering team, oversees product development and ensures technology initiatives support the company's commercial goals.

Key responsibilities

• Define and deliver the technology strategy and roadmap
• Lead end-to-end product development from concept through to deployment
• Provide hands-on technical leadership, reviewing architecture and contributing to complex engineering challenges
• Build, mentor and develop a high-performing engineering team of about 20 people
• Manage technical projects, risks, quality and delivery timelines
• Work closely with the CEO and wider leadership team on prioritisation, investment and stakeholder communication
• Stay ahead of technology trends and drive innovation in autonomous systems

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related field
• Minimum 5 years in technology leadership roles, ideally in robotics, autonomous systems or similar complex product environments
• Proven ability to lead and grow technical teams while staying hands-on with engineering
• Experience in high-growth or scaling technology environments is an advantage

Required skills

• Strong product development, system architecture and full-lifecycle delivery experience
• Excellent communication skills, able to explain technical topics to non-technical stakeholders
• Familiarity with relevant regulatory and compliance considerations is helpful
