Civil Cable Engineer – Power Transmission Projects

About the role

The Civil Cable Engineer will support the TAQA Power Project, overseeing complex civil cable installations for power transmission and distribution. You will ensure safety, quality and innovation throughout the project lifecycle, contributing to critical infrastructure that powers communities.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor all civil works related to cable laying, trenching, ducting, and associated infrastructure for the power sector.
• Ensure all activities comply with project specifications, quality standards and safety regulations.
• Review and approve method statements, shop drawings and material submittals for civil cable works.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors and other stakeholders to resolve technical issues.
• Conduct site inspections, progress monitoring and reporting to the Resident Engineer and Project Manager.
• Assist in risk assessments, mitigation planning and implementation of best engineering practices.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure timely completion of deliverables.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in civil works for power transmission and distribution projects, with a focus on cable laying.
• Proven track record in consultancy or supervision roles within the power sector.
• Solid knowledge of international standards and local regulations for civil and cable works.
• Professional certification or membership in relevant engineering bodies (advantageous).
