Civil Engineer – Roads & Bridges (Dubai)

About the role

AECOM is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to lead the supervision of major roads, bridges and underpasses projects in Dubai. The role combines field inspection, coordination with contractors and technical reporting to ensure projects meet design, safety and schedule requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate construction of bridges and underpasses, ensuring compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
• Review and approve contractors' shop drawings, material proposals and construction methods.
• Conduct regular field inspections, monitor progress and produce daily diaries, inspection reports and meeting minutes.
• Coordinate with contractors, surveyors and other stakeholders to resolve technical issues and maintain project schedules.
• Oversee inspectors, guide contractor operations and review as‑built drawings.
• Monitor project conformance with contractor schedules and propose corrective actions.
• Collaborate with senior engineering team to develop innovative solutions for complex challenges.
• Ensure compliance with local building codes, regulations and RTA standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 12 years of experience supervising roads, highways, bridges and underpasses.
• Proven experience working in Dubai with familiarity of local construction practices and regulations.
