Civil Inspector (Roads & Infrastructure)

About the role

Parsons is seeking a Civil Inspector to join its Dubai team, focusing on roads and infrastructure projects. The role involves continuous surveillance of construction activities to ensure compliance with codes, standards, and specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct civil and structural tests such as soil compaction, moisture content, concrete slump, air entrainment, compression, and concrete coring.
• Perform destructive and nondestructive testing on metals using magnaflex, dye‑penetrant, radiographic, tension/compression, paint thickness and resistivity methods.
• Inspect underground piping for tightness, bedding, and grade, and validate piping systems with P&ID checks and pressure tests.
• Monitor piling installation, verify equipment alignment and balancing, and oversee electrical installations for proper grounding and circuit integrity.
• Check painting and insulation applications for thickness and coverage continuity.
• Provide general inspection of all construction labour and subcontracted tasks to ensure professional workmanship.
• Participate in the preparation of quality‑control and safety reports.

Required profile

• Diploma or associate degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 5 + years of construction experience on roads, bridges, drainage, utilities or irrigation projects.
• Strong analytical abilities and capacity to work independently.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
• Effective communication for coordination with contractors, inspectors and engineers.
• Knowledge of construction site safety procedures and regulations.
