Civil Inspector – Wet Utilities

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Civil Inspector specialized in wet utilities to join AECOM’s infrastructure project team in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on inspecting stormwater, sewerage, potable water and irrigation networks to ensure compliance with design and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct daily site inspections of wet utility works, including stormwater pipelines, manholes, catch basins, gullies, drainage structures, sewerage, potable water and irrigation networks.
• Verify that installations conform to approved drawings, specifications, method statements and Inspection Test Plans (ITPs).
• Review and approve Inspection Requests, monitor material quality, workmanship, bedding, backfilling, compaction and protection of utilities.
• Witness and document testing activities such as pressure testing, leakage testing and CCTV inspections.
• Check line, level, alignment, slopes and invert levels of pipelines and ensure correct setting out with surveyors.
• Identify non‑conforming work, coordinate corrective actions with the Engineer and Contractor, and maintain accurate inspection records.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in wet utilities and infrastructure construction, with strong background in stormwater works.
• Good knowledge of stormwater, sewerage, potable water and irrigation networks and related inspection procedures.
• Familiarity with construction drawings, specifications, method statements and ITPs.
• Experience working with contractors and multidisciplinary project teams; UAE authority experience preferred.
