Civil Inspector - Wet Utilities

About the role

Parsons is looking for a Civil Inspector - Wet Utilities to join its team in Abu Dhabi. The inspector inspects wet utility works on site to make sure installation, testing and commissioning are completed in line with approved drawings, specifications, applicable standards and HSE requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect the installation of potable water, storm water drainage and sewerage systems, checking alignment, levels and gradients.
• Ensure works comply with approved designs, specifications and relevant standards and codes.
• Monitor material and workmanship quality, including trenching, excavation, bedding, backfilling and reinstatement.
• Witness and verify testing such as pressure testing and leakage/flow testing, and support commissioning readiness.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors and utility stakeholders to resolve site issues and apply corrective actions.
• Liaise with engineers and project management to close technical discrepancies and support design and interface coordination.
• Maintain inspection records, reports and documentation, and ensure safe, environmentally compliant site practice such as waste disposal and stormwater controls.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in wet utilities inspection for diploma holders, and 5 years for Bachelor's degree holders.
• Strong knowledge of water, drainage and sewerage systems and applicable standards (ASTM/BS/ISO or local).
• Ability to read and interpret utility drawings, specifications and ITP requirements.
• Good reporting and communication skills, HSE awareness and site coordination capability.
• Desired: sound interpersonal and teamwork skills, GCC experience is an advantage.
