Civil Site Inspector – Infrastructure Projects

About the role

The Civil Site Inspector (Infrastructure) is responsible for inspecting and monitoring civil infrastructure construction activities to ensure that all works are executed in accordance with contract requirements, approved drawings, technical specifications, authority regulations, and applicable quality standards. The role works under the supervision of the Assistant Resident Engineer and Resident Engineer, supporting delivery of roads, earthworks, utilities, drainage, public realm, retaining structures, and associated civil infrastructure works through continuous site inspections, quality monitoring, testing, and documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect daily construction activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
• Monitor contractor workmanship, verify execution against Method Statements and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), and report non‑conforming works.
• Witness field and laboratory testing (earthworks, concrete, asphalt, backfilling, compaction) and verify use of approved materials.
• Monitor contractor compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements and promote safe construction practices.
• Prepare daily inspection reports, maintain accurate site records, and assist in maintaining as‑built documentation.
• Participate in snagging, testing, commissioning, and handover inspections, and help prepare final inspection and asset handover documents.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8–10 years of experience as a Civil Inspector on major infrastructure projects, preferably in the UAE.
• Strong knowledge of civil construction practices, QA/QC procedures, and international construction standards.
• Excellent inspection and observation skills with strong attention to detail.
• Proactive, organized, and able to work effectively in multidisciplinary project environments.
