Civil Works Manager – Depots & Online Buildings

About the role

The Civil Works Manager – Depots & Online Buildings will lead the technical direction and delivery assurance of all civil and structural works for depot facilities and wayside buildings on a High Speed Rail project in Abu Dhabi. The role covers design review, construction supervision, quality, schedule and cost control, and interface management to ensure safe, compliant delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and oversee design development, review and construction of depot civil and structural works, including maintenance workshops, stabling sheds, inspection pits, wheel‑lathe and wash‑plant buildings.
• Direct delivery of depot administration, operations control, warehouse, fuel, fire station, security and staff welfare buildings.
• Supervise depot‑wide infrastructure such as internal roads, hard‑standing, drainage, retaining structures and boundary works, coordinating with track, systems and utility works.
• Ensure compliance with international and local rail standards, GCC building and civil‑defence codes, Eurocodes and HSE requirements.
• Control project schedule, cost and quality, and manage interfaces with rolling stock, systems and other contractors.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years (180 months) of experience in civil engineering, construction supervision and large‑scale infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience delivering complex civil works for rail or similar high‑speed transportation projects.
• Strong knowledge of local UAE/GCC building and civil‑defence codes and international rail standards.
