Cloud Engineer (Azure)

About the role

John Keells IT is recruiting a Cloud Engineer who reports to the Practice Manager – Cloud. The role covers designing, deploying and managing Azure cloud infrastructure and services, with a focus on IaC, PaaS support and containerised workloads.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy and manage Azure cloud infrastructure and services following best practices.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using ARM templates or Terraform.
• Manage and support Azure PaaS services, including databases such as Azure SQL, PostgreSQL and MySQL.
• Deploy and maintain containerised workloads on Azure Container Apps or related services.
• Support Linux-based workloads, including configuration, troubleshooting and performance tuning.
• Contribute to Azure Landing Zones and cloud security governance.
• Monitor, troubleshoot and optimise cloud resources for availability, performance and cost efficiency.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in Azure cloud environments.
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305).
• Currently based in the UAE.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team.

Required skills

• Linux administration and troubleshooting.
• Container-based solutions (Docker, Kubernetes fundamentals).
• Azure Landing Zone concepts, governance and cloud security controls.
• Familiarity with networking concepts (VNets, NSGs, Private Endpoints) is an added advantage.
