Cluster Arabic and Islamic Lead

About the role

GEMS Education is looking for a motivated Cluster Arabic and Islamic Lead to drive the quality of Arabic and Islamic education across its schools in the UAE. The role involves developing and implementing strategic action plans to improve student performance and experience in these subjects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead improvements in teaching, learning, assessment and curriculum planning for Arabic and Islamic.
• Develop, support and monitor action plans at cluster and individual school levels.
• Design and deliver professional development and coaching for teachers.
• Collaborate with other school departments to align practices and ensure best‑practice integration.
• Oversee robust assessment approaches and effective use of data.
• Ensure proper documentation, evidence collection and compliance with recruitment and curriculum standards.
• Support school leadership with performance evaluations, inspection preparation and parental engagement initiatives.
• Assist with teacher recruitment, including interviews and demo lessons.

Required profile

• B.A. in Arabic language, Islamic Studies or Education (M.A. in Education desirable).
• Minimum 5 years of relevant leadership experience (e.g., Head of Department, pedagogy coach).
• At least 3 years of teaching experience.
• Proven record of improving Arabic and/or Islamic outcomes.
• Experience providing training and coaching to teams.
• Senior leadership team experience is a plus.
