Collections Officer

About the role

The Collections Officer will support the bank’s legal and recovery functions by coordinating case management with external law firms and internal teams, ensuring timely resolution and compliance with regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinating with law firms for new cases assigned to ADGM court and other case types (Cheque Execution, REPO, Civil/Cases against the bank), following up across stages and updating systems and trackers.
• Providing backup support for team members during leaves, handling criminal/civil/legal notice/Repo/Cheque Execution cases.
• Monitoring vendors (law firms) for assigned cases, especially in Abu Dhabi, ensuring timely filing as per agreed TAT and sharing required documents.
• Attending expert meetings, reviewing commentaries and memos, and updating legal flags in the system.
• Handling referred requests and escalations related to collections, working closely with Collection and Recovery teams for legal support.
• Ensuring original file retrieval and returns according to process and policy.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in the banking sector.
• Ability to manage self‑development, identify training needs and stay updated on bank policies, central bank regulations and recent developments.
• Strong coordination skills with law firms and internal teams, and ability to handle escalations.
