Colon & Rectal Surgeon – American Board Certified Consultant

About the role

A leading UAE healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Colon & Rectal Surgeon who holds American Board certification. The consultant will join a multidisciplinary surgical team to deliver comprehensive colorectal care for both elective and emergency cases.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialist-level colorectal surgical services, including diagnosis, treatment planning and operative care.
• Perform elective, emergency and minimally invasive colorectal procedures, including laparoscopic surgery.
• Manage complex conditions such as colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, diverticular disease and anorectal disorders.
• Conduct pre‑operative assessments, develop individualized surgical plans and oversee post‑operative follow‑up.
• Collaborate with gastroenterologists, oncologists, radiologists, pathologists and other multidisciplinary team members.
• Participate in tumour board meetings, clinical case discussions and quality‑improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with UAE healthcare regulations.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MD/MBBS or equivalent) with current American Board Certification in Colon & Rectal Surgery.
• Relevant consultant‑level clinical experience, preferably in a tertiary‑care or academic hospital.
• Eligibility for DOH/DHA licensing in the UAE.
• Strong clinical, communication and leadership abilities.
