Commercial Director – Facilities Management

About the role

We are seeking a senior Commercial Director to lead commercial, contract, procurement, and supplier management for a large‑scale facilities management operation in Abu Dhabi. The role will shape commercial governance, drive cost control and ensure supplier accountability across a complex environment.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the commercial and procurement strategy for facilities management operations.
• Oversee full contract lifecycle, including tendering, negotiations, renewals, SLAs, KPIs and performance reviews.
• Manage commercial risk, contractual obligations, budgets, forecasting and financial performance.
• Develop sourcing and procurement strategies to improve cost efficiency, service quality and supplier value.
• Establish supplier performance frameworks and ensure contractors meet commercial and operational standards.
• Provide commercial guidance to operational teams on contract interpretation, claims, variations and performance issues.
• Lead and develop commercial, contracts and procurement teams while maintaining key client and stakeholder relationships.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of experience in commercial, contracts, procurement or related leadership roles.
• Strong background managing large‑scale facilities management contracts or multi‑service operational portfolios.
• Proven expertise in contract management, strategic sourcing and supplier performance management.
• Solid commercial and financial capability, including budgeting, forecasting, cost optimisation and risk management.
• Experience in complex environments such as large infrastructure, major developments, mixed‑use assets or high‑footfall facilities.
• Excellent negotiation, stakeholder management, governance and team leadership skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Procurement, Contract Management, Facilities Management or a related discipline.
