Commercial Director - Facilities Management

About the role

The Commercial Director leads the commercial strategy, contract management and procurement activities supporting large-scale facilities management operations in a complex, high-demand environment. The role covers commercial governance, contract performance, supplier management and financial oversight, delivering best value through procurement and supply chain management aligned with operational and client service needs.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the commercial and procurement strategy for facilities management services, ensure compliance with policies, client requirements and regulations, and manage commercial risks, contractual obligations and financial performance.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors and key stakeholders, and lead and develop the commercial and contracting teams.
• Oversee service contracts, SLAs and KPIs, ensuring service providers meet financial, quality and operational targets, and manage the full contract lifecycle including tendering, negotiation and performance monitoring.
• Lead sourcing strategies and procurement planning, oversee tendering, bid evaluation and supplier selection, and ensure compliance with procurement policies and governance frameworks.
• Manage contract financial performance, forecasting and budget monitoring, working with finance teams on reporting and identifying cost optimisation opportunities.
• Develop supplier performance frameworks with KPIs and SLAs, monitor contractor performance and compliance, and run supplier performance reviews.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Management, Procurement, Contract Management, Facilities Management or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in commercial, contract management or procurement leadership roles.
• Experience managing large, multi-service contracts or facilities management portfolios.
• Experience in complex operational environments such as large infrastructure, mixed-use developments or high-footfall assets preferred.
