Commercial Manager – Technology Commercial Governance

About the role

Connect 21 is seeking a Commercial Manager to lead technology commercial governance across engineering, ICT infrastructure, and platform delivery projects. The role safeguards commercial interests throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring contracts, variations, and subcontract procurement are managed effectively.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain commercial governance frameworks for contract administration, variation management, and compliance.
• Protect project profitability by evaluating all contractual changes, claims, and commercial decisions before implementation.
• Support the Director of Commercial Affairs in establishing standards, methodologies, and risk‑mitigation strategies.
• Promote best practices in contract administration in line with industry‑standard forms.
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle and recommend mitigation actions.
• Administer contracts from award through to project close‑out, interpreting obligations and ensuring compliance for both Connect 21 and its clients.
• Maintain comprehensive contractual documentation and reporting mechanisms.

Required profile

• Proven experience in commercial management and contract administration for engineering or ICT projects.
• Strong understanding of variation management, subcontract procurement, and contractual compliance.
• Ability to work as a commercial bridge between project delivery, finance, procurement, and commercial affairs teams.
• Excellent analytical skills to assess commercial risks and profitability.
