Commis 1 – All Day Dining (Full‑time)

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Commis 1 to join our All Day Dining team at JW Marriott Dubai. The role involves preparing a variety of dishes, maintaining high standards of food quality, and supporting the kitchen team during busy service periods.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare special meals or substitute items and ensure proper portion, arrangement, and garnish.
• Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters.
• Pull food from freezer storage to thaw in the refrigerator.
• Maintain food logs and monitor the quality and quantity of prepared food.
• Communicate assistance needs during busy periods and inform the chef of excess items for daily specials.
• Inform service staff of menu specials and out‑of‑stock items.
• Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality and presentation standards.
• Prepare cold foods and follow all safety, security, and hygiene policies.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, and employee coaching.
• Perform physical tasks such as standing for extended periods, lifting up to 25 lb, and moving items safely.

Required profile

• At least 3 years of relevant culinary experience.
• Technical, trade or vocational school degree preferred.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced kitchen environment.
• Strong communication skills and commitment to safety and hygiene standards.
