Commis 1 – Employee Dining Restaurant

About the role

The Commis 1 position supports the Employee Dining Restaurant at The Ritz‑Carlton Abu Dhabi Grand Canal by preparing meals, maintaining food quality, and assisting kitchen management. The role involves both food preparation and collaboration with service staff to ensure smooth operations during busy periods.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare special meals, substitute items, cold foods and follow recipes, quality and presentation standards.
• Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills and roasters; pull items from freezer to thaw and maintain food logs.
• Monitor portion sizes, food arrangement, garnish and ensure proper inventory usage for daily specials.
• Communicate with chefs and service staff about menu specials, out‑of‑stock items and excess food.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating and coaching employees.
• Follow safety, security and uniform policies; report maintenance needs, accidents and complete required safety training.
• Ensure food safety standards are met and maintain cleanliness of the work area.

Required profile

• Technical, trade or vocational school degree.
• At least 3 years of related kitchen experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• No specific license or certification required.
