About the role

The Commis 1 – Pastry will join the pastry team at Waldorf Astoria Dubai International Financial Centre, a Forbes Five‑Star luxury hotel. You will support daily pastry operations, ensuring high‑quality products and exceptional guest experiences in a refined kitchen environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain mise en place for the pastry section according to daily requirements.
• Assist the Chef de Partie and Executive Chef in the preparation and cooking of pastry items.
• Ensure the pastry station is properly set up, organized, and clean before service.
• Maintain strict hygiene, cleanliness, and food‑safety standards at all times.
• Taste and inspect products to guarantee freshness, quality, and consistency.
• Control portion sizes and minimize food waste.
• Stay informed about hotel events, outlets, and operational updates.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a commis chef role, preferably in a luxury hotel or high‑end dining venue.
• Positive attitude with a strong commitment to guest satisfaction.
• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, dynamic kitchen environment.

Required skills

• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
