Commis 2 – Fish Beach Taverna (Kitchen Assistant)

About the role

The Fish Beach Taverna at Le Méridien Dubai Marina is seeking a motivated Commis 2 to join its kitchen team. You will support the preparation and cooking of menu items while maintaining the highest standards of hygiene, quality, and presentation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients – portion, chop, wash, peel, weigh, measure and mix according to recipes.
• Cook and assemble dishes, including cold foods, while adhering to quality and presentation standards.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers safely.
• Monitor food temperatures, test doneness, and ensure consistent food quality.
• Set‑up and break‑down work stations, serve food in correct portions, and maintain a clean, sanitized kitchen environment.
• Follow safety, security and company policies; report any hazards or incidents.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in food preparation or a similar kitchen role.
• Ability to stand, walk or sit for extended periods and lift objects up to 25 lb.
• Good personal hygiene, professional appearance and ability to work in a team.
