Commis 2 - Pastry Production

About the role

The Commis 2 supports the pastry production team by preparing ingredients, operating kitchen equipment, and ensuring food is produced to the hotel’s quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients, portion, chop, wash, peel, weigh, measure and mix according to recipes.
• Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers, and monitor cooking to ensure quality and correct temperature.
• Prepare cold foods, assemble dishes, and serve portions onto appropriate receptacles.
• Maintain a clean and sanitized kitchen area, including washing tools, knives, equipment and workstations.
• Set‑up and break‑down work stations, and ensure all appliances are at correct temperatures.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year of pastry or kitchen production experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 25 lb and perform repetitive motions.

Required skills

• Operation of kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
• Food preparation techniques including portioning, chopping, weighing and mixing.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation and temperature control procedures.
