Commis 3 – Kitchen Assistant at Mina's Kitchen

About the role

The Commis 3 position supports the kitchen team at Mina's Kitchen within the Westin hotel in Dubai. You will prepare ingredients, cook under supervision, and maintain a clean, safe work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and portion ingredients, wash, peel, and store fresh produce.
• Cook foods according to recipes, quality and presentation standards, and test for doneness.
• Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers safely.
• Monitor food quality while preparing and ensure correct temperature of appliances and food.
• Maintain workstation cleanliness, disinfect tools and equipment, and follow safety and security policies.
• Serve food in proper portions and assist with set‑up and break‑down of the kitchen area.
• Report maintenance needs, accidents, and unsafe conditions to the manager.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least one year of related kitchen experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• No specific license or certification needed.
• Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 25 pounds.

Required skills

• Food preparation techniques such as chopping, measuring, and mixing.
• Operation of kitchen equipment including ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
• Food safety and sanitation practices.
