Commis 3 – Kitchen Assistant

About the role

The restaurant group is expanding with new outlets in Fujairah and is looking for a Commis 3 to join the kitchen team. Reporting to the Executive Chef through the Sous Chef, the role involves preparing, cooking and serving assigned dishes while upholding the highest standards of quality and presentation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and plate food items as directed by senior chefs, ensuring consistency and quality.
• Monitor stock movement, place orders for your section and assist with inventory control.
• Carry out daily temperature checks, food labeling, dating and proper storage procedures.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, reporting any hazards or equipment issues promptly.
• Assist with receiving deliveries, checking and storing goods according to company procedures.
• Follow opening and closing kitchen routines, including fire safety and hygiene protocols.
• Support other sections during busy periods or staff shortages.

Required profile

• Ability to work under pressure for long hours in a heated kitchen environment.
• Punctuality and reliability, reporting to the manager on arrival.
• Strong personal hygiene and a clean uniform.
• Willingness to learn and develop under the guidance of senior chefs.

Required skills

• Knowledge of food safety, temperature control and labeling standards.
• Basic stock control and ordering procedures.
• Understanding of fire safety and emergency procedures.
• Familiarity with kitchen equipment and cleaning chemicals.
