Commis 3 – Kitchen Assistant

About the role

The Commis 3 position supports the culinary team at Mina's Kitchen within Westin Hotels & Resorts, Dubai. You will work in a fast‑paced environment, preparing ingredients and dishes to meet the hotel’s high quality and presentation standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients by portioning, chopping, washing, peeling and storing fresh produce.
• Measure, weigh and mix ingredients according to recipes.
• Cook and assemble hot and cold dishes, ensuring proper temperature and presentation.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
• Monitor food quality, test doneness and adjust cooking times as needed.
• Maintain a clean and sanitized work station, including tools, knives and equipment.
• Set up and break down stations for each shift and adhere to safety and hygiene policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of experience in a food‑service or kitchen environment.
• Ability to stand, walk and lift objects up to 25 lb throughout the shift.
• Willingness to follow company policies, safety procedures and maintain a professional appearance.

Required skills

• Operating ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
• Food preparation techniques including portioning, chopping and measuring.
• Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
