Commis Chef

About the role

Apparel Group is hiring a Commis Chef in Dubai. The Commis Chef is responsible for the basic preparation work in a given kitchen section and supports the senior cook in producing food efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Work with the senior cook in the production of food in the assigned section and help them perform their duties efficiently.
• Collect the required food items from stores and the butchery.
• Prepare mise-en-place according to the direction of the section head.
• Follow kitchen hygiene and sanitation rules and attend training classes while keeping records of new recipes and cooking procedures.
• Maintain equipment in good, clean condition and ensure regular repairs and maintenance.
• Control waste to keep food costs within budget without compromising standards.
• Perform other duties allocated from time to time.
• Maintain operational hygiene according to cleaning schedules and follow restaurant policies on health, hygiene and fire/life safety, including knowing emergency exits and evacuation procedures.
• Comply with the corporate code of conduct and carry out management directions to achieve business goals.
