About the role

Join the culinary team at Novotel & Adagio Premium Dubai Al Barsha as a Commis I, supporting the preparation of Arabic and Filipino dishes. This entry‑level position offers hands‑on experience in a dynamic hotel kitchen, helping you develop your culinary skills while delivering memorable dining experiences for guests.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and cooking a variety of dishes following recipes and chef instructions.
• Stock, organize, and monitor kitchen supplies to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary work environment in line with food safety and hygiene standards.
• Operate and care for kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely food preparation and smooth workflow.
• Support senior chefs with menu planning, food presentation, and recipe development.
• Participate in daily briefings, team meetings, and receive/store food deliveries with proper rotation.
• Perform basic food preparation tasks such as washing, peeling, and chopping ingredients.

Required profile

• Basic culinary skills and knowledge of various cooking techniques.
• Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP).
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods.
