Commis I – Kitchen Assistant at Luxury Resort

About the role

The InterContinental Ras Al Khaimah Mina Al Arab Resort & Spa is seeking a motivated Commis I to join its culinary team. This entry‑level position supports the kitchen in delivering visually appealing and flavorful dishes while maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and service.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and plate dishes with attention to visual presentation and taste.
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation, monitoring supplies, equipment, and waste.
• Adhere to local cleanliness and hygiene regulations, ensuring a safe food environment.
• Assist with washing up and other kitchen duties as needed.
• Support the team with ad‑hoc tasks, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork.

Required profile

• Physical ability to lift, push, and pull objects up to 50 lb (23 kg), including bending and kneeling.
• Basic literacy and numeracy skills for reading, writing, and simple calculations.
• Willingness to work night, weekend, and holiday shifts.
• Compliance with local food‑handling laws and age requirements for serving alcohol.
• Good communication skills, friendly and approachable demeanor.
