Commis I – Pastry Shop (Full‑Time)

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Commis I to join the pastry shop at The Ritz‑Carlton in Dubai. The role involves supporting the pastry team in daily production, ensuring high‑quality breads and pastries are prepared and presented to the hotel’s standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare breads, pastries, doughs, fillings and decorations according to production sheets.
• Proof, bake and finish baked goods while adhering to recipes and presentation standards.
• Maintain kitchen logs and ensure compliance with the food‑safety program.
• Monitor appliance temperatures, report issues and keep the Chef informed of excess inventory.
• Use baking equipment, measuring tools and appliances safely and accurately.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling and employee coaching as needed.
• Follow all company policies, safety procedures and personal hygiene standards.
• Perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 25 lb, standing for long periods and moving on varied surfaces.

Required profile

• Technical, trade or vocational school qualification in culinary arts or related field.
• Minimum two years of experience in a bakery or pastry production environment.
• No prior supervisory experience required.
• Ability to work full‑time on‑site in Dubai.
