Commis II – Kitchen Assistant in Dubai

About the role

As a Commis II at DELANO Dubai, you will support the kitchen team in basic food preparation and mise‑en‑place, ensuring smooth and efficient operations in line with DELANO’s high standards. You will work under senior chefs, maintaining cleanliness, hygiene and consistency throughout service.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as washing, peeling, chopping and portioning ingredients.
• Set up and maintain a clean, organised and fully stocked workstation before and during service.
• Support the kitchen brigade during service by executing basic tasks accurately and promptly.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene and comply with HACCP and kitchen safety procedures.
• Handle ingredient storage, labeling and rotation to ensure freshness and minimise waste.
• Collaborate with Commis I and Demi Chef de Partie to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
• Learn basic culinary techniques and kitchen procedures under supervision.
• Follow kitchen discipline, demonstrating reliability, punctuality and a positive attitude.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Commis II or Commis III in a luxury hotel, high‑end restaurant or similar environment (preferred).
• Basic understanding of culinary techniques, food preparation and kitchen operations.
• Strong attention to detail, cleanliness and presentation standards.
• Knowledge of food safety and HACCP principles.
• Team‑player attitude with willingness to learn and collaborate within a structured kitchen brigade.
• Ability to perform in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure kitchen environment.
• Formal culinary qualification or international culinary training is preferred.
• Positive personality, authenticity and passion for hospitality.
