Commis II - Latin American Restaurant

About the role

The Ritz-Carlton is hiring a Commis II for its Latin American restaurant in Dubai (Al Mamsha Street, Jumeirah Beach Residences). This is a full-time, non-management position focused on food preparation and kitchen support.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping and storing food
• Wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables, and weigh, measure and mix ingredients
• Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards and the food preparation checklist, and prepare cold foods
• Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers, and test foods to check they are cooked sufficiently
• Monitor food quality while preparing food, and serve food in proper portions onto proper receptacles
• Set up and break down the workstation, and wash and disinfect the kitchen area, tables, tools, knives and equipment
• Check appliance and food temperatures, and follow company safety and security policies
• Maintain a clean, professional appearance, protect company assets and keep proprietary information confidential
• Work within the team, support colleagues and uphold quality expectations
• Stand, sit or walk for an extended period, lift objects up to 25 pounds, and perform other reasonable duties requested by supervisors

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent preferred
• At least 1 year of related work experience preferred
• No supervisory experience required
• No license or certification required
