Commis (Kitchen Assistant) – 2 Year Experience Required

About the role

The Commis will support the Chef de Partie and the wider kitchen team in daily food preparation and cooking activities at SLS Dubai Hotel & Residences. This role ensures high standards of quality, hygiene and presentation across all service outlets.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients, sauces, garnishes and mise en place according to recipes and portion sizes.
• Assist with receiving, storing, and organizing food supplies following FIFO and proper labeling.
• Maintain a clean, organized workstation and adhere to all food safety, hygiene and sanitation standards.
• Support buffet, restaurant, banquet and other kitchen operations during busy service periods.
• Monitor stock levels, report shortages and help minimise food waste.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and report any issues.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Minimum two years of cooking/kitchen experience in an accredited restaurant or hotel.
• Experience in an upscale or lifestyle brand hotel is a plus.
• Friendly, gracious demeanor with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment and communicate effectively in English.
