Commis – Kitchen Assistant (Full‑Time)

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Commis to join the Food & Beverage team at Le Méridien Fujairah. The position involves preparing ingredients, cooking and assembling dishes according to recipes, and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment. This is a full‑time, on‑site role in a hotel setting.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, portion, chop, wash and peel fresh fruits, vegetables and other ingredients.
• Weigh, measure, mix and cook food following recipes, quality and presentation standards.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
• Monitor food quality, test doneness and ensure correct temperatures of appliances and food.
• Set up and break down work stations, serve food in proper portions and maintain sanitation of kitchen areas, tools and equipment.
• Follow company safety, security and hygiene policies, reporting any incidents or maintenance needs.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least one year of related kitchen or food‑service experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• No specific license or certification required.

Required skills

• Food preparation and portioning techniques.
• Operating ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
• Food safety, sanitation and temperature control procedures.
