Commissioning Engineer – Electrical ELV

About the role

AESG is seeking a Commissioning Engineer specialised in Electrical ELV systems to join its multi‑discipline project team in Dubai. You will conduct site inspections, verify test results and deliver commissioning services that meet the high standards expected by AESG’s clients.

Key responsibilities

• Independently conduct site inspections in the electrical ELV discipline.
• Review design information, tolerances and agreed methods of working.
• Assess test procedures and recorded results for compliance with project specifications and industry codes.
• Assist with reviewing project documentation for compliance.
• Report issues to senior team members clearly and concisely.
• Liaise professionally with contractors and commissioning teams.
• Produce high‑quality documentation, including site observation reports.
• Participate in meetings and workshops related to the discipline.
• Monitor installation, submittals and use of engineering tools.
• Track task completion, prepare look‑aheads and maintain project milestone trackers.
• Maintain a diary of inspected systems, reviewed documents and decisions made on site.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience with an engineering degree (BSc Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering).
• Minimum 6 years of experience with a college diploma (HNC/HND or equivalent).
• Minimum 7 years of experience with a college or trade certificate.
• Industry accreditations such as Incorporated Engineer, CSA Grade 4, or commissioning certifications (BCA, ACG, NEBB) are desirable but not essential.

• Commissioning of ELV (Extra‑Low Voltage) systems.
• Electrical engineering principles and practices.
• MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) building services knowledge.
• Familiarity with industry codes and standards for testing and compliance.
