Commissioning Lead Engineer - FGT Flue Gas Treatment

About the role

Kanadevia Inova, a global player in waste infrastructure and waste-to-energy technology, is hiring a Commissioning Lead Engineer for its Flue Gas Treatment (FGT) unit in Abu Dhabi. The role leads commissioning within the area of responsibility, ensuring works follow the contract, approved drawings and standards, and meet project time, budget, quality and HSEQ requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Review risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) against HSEQ requirements and ensure work follows them; stop work if safety is compromised
• Lead commissioning within the area of responsibility and supervise the contractor's commissioning works, including timescales, HSEQ and compliance with drawings and standards
• Liaise with the Commissioning Manager, Erection Supervisors, HSE and Commercial departments, and with the engineering department on a weekly or more frequent basis
• Coordinate subcontractors and vendors on site so they can perform their tasks efficiently
• Carry out required on-site tests, liaise with third-party authorities on testing requirements, and record data in the PIRS database
• Keep quality assurance documents, progress reports and personnel counts, and deliver lessons learned and feedback
• Keep the Commissioning Manager and Site Manager informed of all activities

Required profile

• Experienced mechanical or process engineer
• Experience commissioning power waste-to-energy plants
• Experience leading HSEQ management and knowledge of relevant HSEQ legal requirements
• Valid Safety Contractor Certificate (SCC) or equivalent
• Good command of English; other languages an advantage
• Cooperative, proactive, honest, self-motivated and able to work under limited supervision

Required skills

• Knowledge of LOTO and permit-to-work systems
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
