Competent Person – Electrical Engineer for Transmission Lines (UAE)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Competent Person (CP) Electrical Engineer to lead safe and compliant transmission line activities across projects in the UAE. The role involves supervising construction, monitoring site operations and ensuring adherence to engineering, HSE, quality and client standards.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the CP for transmission line construction, overseeing installation, erection, testing and related works.
• Conduct site inspections, identify hazards and enforce corrective actions, stopping unsafe work when required.
• Review and verify work permits, risk assessments, method statements and ensure compliance with UAE regulations and client requirements.
• Coordinate with construction, engineering, QA/QC, HSE and client teams to resolve technical and site issues.
• Monitor lifting, excavation, tower erection, stringing and conductor installation activities, ensuring proper safety controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s, BTech or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience on transmission line projects.
• Valid ADNOC or TAQA Competent Person approval (mandatory).
• Strong knowledge of transmission line construction and HSE practices.
• Experience on UAE/GCC projects preferred.
