Compliance Manager – Retail Compliance Unit

About the role

The Compliance Manager will lead the Retail Banking Group (RBG) compliance squad, driving quality assurance, regulatory adherence, and digital transformation initiatives. This senior position reports to the Unit Head and works closely with Business Banking, the Compliance Digital Studio, and Innovation units.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Business Banking compliance team and oversee daily operations of the Retail Compliance squad.
• Coordinate digitisation and automation projects with the Compliance Digital Studio and Innovation unit.
• Conduct quality checks on key deliverables, including auto‑discounting, high‑risk nationality alerts, and name‑screening matches.
• Centralise incident management, assess CPR standards, and escalates to senior management for CBUAE reporting.
• Maintain alignment of unit procedures with regulatory expectations and bank policies.
• Provide training to compliance staff and relevant stakeholders.
• Prepare analytical reports on high‑risk reviews and name‑screening trends for senior management.
• Represent compliance in cross‑functional strategic meetings and ad‑hoc projects.
• Drive AI integration, dashboard development, and other digital transformation initiatives.

Required profile

• 7–10 years of banking experience, specifically in KYC/EDD for business or corporate clients.
• Strong knowledge of UAE regulatory framework and internal compliance standards.
• Proven leadership and team‑management experience.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Experience coordinating compliance processes and supporting system solutions.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Familiarity with AI tools for compliance automation.
• Presentation skills for training and stakeholder communication.
