Compliance Officer / MLRO / CRO & Responsible Individual (UAE)

About the role

Webot is expanding its virtual‑asset platform in the UAE and needs a senior regulatory expert to lead compliance, AML, risk and licensing functions for its new Dubai entity. The role combines the responsibilities of a Compliance Officer, Money‑Laundering Reporting Officer, Chief Risk Officer and Responsible Individual.

Key responsibilities

• Lead VARA (or other UAE regulator) licensing applications, act as primary liaison and manage all regulatory submissions, interviews and remediation actions.
• Establish and maintain a Compliance Management System (CMS) and draft policies required under VARA rulebooks.
• Develop and operate AML/CFT frameworks, including transaction monitoring, sanctions screening and filing Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs).
• Build enterprise risk‑management frameworks, conduct business and operational risk assessments, and present risk reports to senior management and the Board.
• Serve as an approved Responsible Individual under VARA, ensuring ongoing compliance with licence conditions and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Based in Dubai.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a compliance function, with at least 2 years of hands‑on AML/CFT experience.
• Background in financial services, fintech, payments or virtual‑asset sectors; CAMS or equivalent AML qualification preferred.
• Proven ability to build compliance, AML and risk‑management frameworks from the ground up.
