About the role
The Conservator will develop and implement preservation plans for museum artifacts made of metal, wood, ceramics and stone, following international best practices. This role supports the creation of digital records, restoration work, and ensures artifacts are displayed under optimal environmental conditions.
Key responsibilities
- Analyse artefacts and design preservation plans based on global museum standards.
- Conduct inventory, registration and creation of digital records for collections.
- Perform material‑specific restoration and document each project.
- Prepare condition reports and link them to digital artefact records.
- Collaborate on transport, installation and maintenance for temporary and permanent exhibitions.
- Monitor and enforce environmental requirements for display settings.
- Manage procurement of conservation laboratory supplies.
- Participate in annual collection audits and compile accurate inventory reports.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree in Conservation of artifacts and heritage objects (metals, wood, ceramics, stone) or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 4 years of experience restoring museum artefacts.
