Construction Director – Main Contracting

About the role

We are looking for a senior Construction Director with extensive main‑contracting experience to lead large‑scale projects across the UAE. The role involves shaping construction strategy, overseeing multidisciplinary teams and ensuring delivery against cost, schedule, quality and safety targets.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute construction strategy for a portfolio of major projects.
• Lead Project Directors, Managers, Engineers and site teams, ensuring performance against cost, schedule, quality, safety and profitability.
• Manage budgets, cash‑flow, cost forecasts and financial controls.
• Approve construction methodologies, master programmes, recovery, resource, logistics and procurement plans.
• Oversee variations, claims, extensions of time, contracts and subcontractor obligations.
• Conduct contractual and commercial negotiations with clients, consultants, suppliers and partners.
• Coordinate with government authorities, utility providers and other stakeholders.
• Identify and mitigate operational, technical, contractual and commercial risks.
• Drive productivity improvements, value engineering and cost reduction while maintaining quality and safety.
• Ensure compliance with HSE, QA/QC, project specifications, authority requirements and UAE regulations.
• Establish and monitor KPIs, review performance and implement corrective actions.
• Provide executive reports on progress, costs, cash‑flow, profitability, risks and resources.
• Support tendering, pre‑construction, procurement and project planning activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• Minimum 20 years of experience in the construction industry, with a strong background in main contracting.
• Proven track record of delivering large‑scale projects on time and within budget.
• Extensive experience managing multidisciplinary teams and complex stakeholder environments.
