Construction Engineer (E&I) – Offshore Projects

About the role

Penspen is seeking an experienced Construction Engineer specialized in Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) to support offshore oil & gas projects in Abu Dhabi. The role covers the full project lifecycle from fabrication through commissioning, ensuring safe and compliant execution of all E&I activities.

Key responsibilities

• Support offshore projects during fabrication, installation, hook‑up, testing, pre‑commissioning and commissioning phases.
• Review and verify E&I construction drawings, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, loop diagrams and installation details.
• Develop and review work packs, method statements, installation procedures and execution plans.
• Coordinate E&I activities on fabrication yards, offshore installations and during commissioning.
• Monitor construction progress, identify schedule risks and implement mitigation actions.
• Ensure compliance with approved engineering documents, project specifications and international standards.
• Oversee cable tray, conduit, cable pulling, glanding, termination and testing activities.
• Support system energisation, handover and mechanical completion activities.
• Resolve technical queries on‑site and coordinate engineering clarifications.
• Participate in progress reviews, construction coordination meetings and commissioning walk‑downs.
• Monitor subcontractor productivity and prepare technical and progress reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Instrumentation or Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years on offshore projects.
• Proven experience in E&I construction within a PMC/EPC environment; offshore oil & gas background preferred.
• Previous experience on ADNOC offshore projects is an advantage.
