Construction Superintendent – Civil

About the role

Petrofac is seeking an experienced Civil Construction Superintendent to lead subcontractor activities on its projects. The role involves overseeing daily civil works, ensuring safety, quality and efficiency while supporting the Construction Manager and Engineer.

Key responsibilities

• Work to a 90‑day look‑ahead schedule and provide leadership to site‑based construction supervision across multiple disciplines.
• Direct subcontractors, assist them in selecting optimal execution methods and monitor daily progress and labour/equipment utilisation.
• Verify subcontractor personnel and equipment usage on reimbursable contracts, sign off daily timesheets and flag scope changes.
• Review and enforce subcontractor HSSE plans, conduct toolbox talks and daily site inspections to maintain safety and housekeeping standards.
• Ensure Inspection and Test Plans (ITP) and Quality Control Plans (QCP) are in place before work starts and monitor compliance with project quality requirements.
• Support the Construction Manager/Engineer in technical decisions and coordinate with the Subcontracts Manager on scope modifications.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising civil construction activities on large‑scale projects.
• Familiarity with contract types such as reimbursable and unit‑rate agreements.
• Strong understanding of HSSE procedures, safety toolbox talks and incident reporting.
• Ability to read and interpret project scopes, ITPs and QCPs.
• Experience working with multi‑discipline teams and subcontractors.
