Construction Superintendent (Mechanical)

About the role

Penspen is hiring an experienced Construction Superintendent (Mechanical) based in Abu Dhabi to oversee field construction activities for oil and gas projects. The successful candidate will ensure mechanical work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with project specifications and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise mechanical construction, including piping, equipment installation, fabrication, and testing.
• Coordinate subcontractors, crews, materials, and equipment.
• Enforce HSE requirements and conduct daily safety meetings.
• Monitor progress, quality, productivity, and project schedules.
• Review drawings, specifications, method statements, and work packages.
• Coordinate inspections, pre‑commissioning, and system handover.
• Provide daily reports and resolve field issues promptly.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline (mandatory).
• Minimum 17 years of relevant experience in the oil & gas sector.
• At least 5 years of experience in the GCC region.
• 5 years in a similar position.
• Extensive experience in oil & gas pipeline projects.
• Experience in EPC/EPCM project environments.
• In‑depth understanding of HSE requirements and industry codes/standards.
• Proven leadership, coordination, and problem‑solving skills.
