Consultant Allergist and Immunologist

About the role

A multidisciplinary healthcare team in Dubai is seeking a highly experienced and compassionate Consultant Allergist and Immunologist. The consultant diagnoses, treats and manages allergic, immunologic and immune-mediated disorders in adult and pediatric patients, using advanced diagnostics, immunotherapy and evidence-based care.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage allergic conditions such as allergic rhinitis, asthma, eczema, food and drug allergies, insect venom allergies, urticaria, angioedema and anaphylaxis.
• Evaluate and treat primary and secondary immunodeficiency, autoimmune and immune-mediated conditions.
• Perform and interpret skin prick, intradermal and patch testing, pulmonary function tests and IgE and immunologic laboratory studies.
• Develop treatment plans including allergen avoidance, pharmacotherapy, immunotherapy and biologics, and administer and monitor immunotherapy.
• Manage emergency allergic conditions such as anaphylaxis and educate patients and families on prevention and emergency action plans.
• Collaborate with pulmonologists, dermatologists, ENT specialists, pediatricians and gastroenterologists, and take part in multidisciplinary meetings, audits, quality improvement and research.
• Maintain accurate medical records in line with DHA regulations and supervise and mentor junior staff where applicable.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and a recognized residency in Internal Medicine or Pediatrics.
• Fellowship or subspecialty training in Allergy and Clinical Immunology, with board certification or equivalent.
• DHA eligibility letter, DHA license or eligibility for consultant licensure in Dubai.
• At least 8-10 years of post-specialization experience as a Consultant Allergist and Immunologist; experience in a tertiary care hospital or internationally accredited institution is highly preferred.

• Strong clinical judgment, communication and patient counseling skills, and commitment to evidence-based medicine.
