Consultant Anesthesiologist

About the role

Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Hospital (SSBZH), part of M42's integrated healthcare network and serving Abu Dhabi's Northern Emirates, is seeking a Consultant Anesthesiologist. The consultant delivers comprehensive anesthesia services across many surgical specialties, working with surgeons, intensivists, nurses and allied health professionals to ensure patient safety, perioperative care, pain management and clinical excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert anesthesia care for elective, emergency and day-case procedures across multiple specialties
• Conduct pre-anesthetic assessments and formulate individualized anesthesia plans
• Administer general, regional and monitored anesthesia care following international best practice
• Manage patients through induction, maintenance and recovery, and deliver acute and chronic pain management, including regional anesthesia techniques
• Take part in the care of critically ill patients and provide airway management when needed
• Respond promptly to emergencies such as resuscitation and trauma cases
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and practice within granted clinical privileges

Required profile

• MBBS, MBChB or equivalent medical qualification
• Recognized specialty training in Anesthesiology
• Consultant qualification recognized by the UAE PQR, such as American Board Certification, Canadian FRCPC, CCT/CCST or equivalent
• At least 3 years of post-certification experience as a Consultant Anesthesiologist
• Valid DOH license as Consultant Anesthesiologist or eligibility to obtain one
• Current BLS and ACLS certification
