Consultant Cardiac Anesthesiologist – Dubai

About the role

We are seeking a highly experienced Consultant Cardiac Anesthesiologist to join a leading healthcare team in Dubai. The role involves delivering specialised anaesthesia care for adult and paediatric cardiac surgeries, interventional cardiology procedures and complex cardiovascular interventions, ensuring optimal patient outcomes through expert peri‑operative management.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive anaesthesia services for cardiac, thoracic and major vascular surgeries.
• Conduct pre‑anaesthetic evaluations, risk assessments and optimisation of medical conditions.
• Administer general anaesthesia for procedures such as CABG, valve surgery, congenital heart repairs, heart transplantation and aortic surgery.
• Support interventional cardiology and structural heart procedures including TAVI/TAVR, MitraClip and electrophysiology cases.
• Perform and interpret intra‑operative Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE) for surgical decision‑making.
• Manage advanced invasive haemodynamic monitoring (arterial lines, central venous catheters, pulmonary artery catheters, cardiac output monitoring).
• Provide peri‑operative critical care in collaboration with intensivists and cardiac surgeons.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with recognised residency in Anaesthesiology.
• Fellowship or advanced subspecialty training in Cardiac Anaesthesia.
• Board certification in Anaesthesiology and DHA eligibility for consultant licensure in Dubai.
• Minimum 8–10 years post‑specialisation experience in cardiac anaesthesia, including adult and paediatric cases.
• Experience in tertiary care hospitals with established cardiothoracic surgery programmes.

Required skills

• Proficiency in intra‑operative Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE).
• Advanced invasive haemodynamic monitoring (arterial, central venous, pulmonary artery catheters, cardiac output).
• Expertise in cardiac anaesthesia and peri‑operative cardiovascular management.
• Critical care management of cardiac surgical patients.
