Consultant Critical Care

About the role

We are seeking a distinguished Consultant Critical Care with extensive experience in managing critically ill patients with complex and life‑threatening conditions. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive critical care, including advanced patient assessment, management of organ dysfunction, and coordination of multidisciplinary treatment plans.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage critically ill patients with complex and life‑threatening conditions.
• Provide comprehensive intensive care management for patients with acute and severe illnesses.
• Manage patients requiring advanced respiratory, cardiovascular, renal, and neurological support.
• Monitor and manage patients with multi‑organ dysfunction and critical illness.
• Provide advanced airway management and mechanical ventilation when required.
• Manage sepsis, septic shock, acute respiratory failure, and other critical conditions.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical assessment and patient needs.
• Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams, including emergency medicine, surgery, internal medicine, cardiology, neurology, nursing, and allied health professionals.
• Provide specialist critical care consultations across appropriate hospital settings.
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, clinical governance, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of critical care protocols, pathways, and clinical standards.
• Support medical education, training, and professional development within the department.

Required profile

• Board certification in Critical Care Medicine, Intensive Care Medicine, or equivalent recognised qualification.
• Recognised Tier 1 qualification such as ABMS, Canadian Royal College, UK CCT/CCST, European Board, or equivalent.
• Minimum 3–5 years of post‑specialisation experience in Critical Care / Intensive Care Medicine.
• Eligibility for Consultant‑level licensing with DHA, DOH, or MOHAP.
