Consultant Emergency Medicine

About the role

A leading healthcare facility in Abu Dhabi, UAE is hiring a Consultant Emergency Medicine on a full-time basis. The consultant provides expert emergency care, trauma management, advanced resuscitation and treatment of critically ill patients.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage acute medical emergencies, trauma cases and life-threatening conditions
• Assess, stabilise and treat critically ill or injured patients immediately
• Manage cardiac emergencies, respiratory failure, stroke, sepsis and other emergency conditions
• Perform advanced airway management, endotracheal intubation and emergency procedures within authorised clinical privileges
• Lead ACLS, resuscitation and emergency response teams
• Triage patients and prioritise treatment by clinical urgency
• Interpret investigations such as ECG, laboratory tests, X-rays, CT scans and bedside ultrasound
• Coordinate admissions, specialist referrals and ICU transfers
• Collaborate with surgeons, intensivists, cardiologists, anesthesiologists and multidisciplinary teams
• Supervise and mentor junior physicians, emergency nurses and clinical staff
• Ensure compliance with DOH regulations, emergency protocols, infection control and patient safety

Required profile

• MBBS/MD or equivalent recognised medical degree
• Recognised postgraduate qualification in Emergency Medicine
• Board certification or equivalent consultant-level qualification; American Board, UK CCT, Canadian, Australian, European or other internationally recognised qualifications are highly desirable
• Minimum 5-10 years of relevant post-specialization experience preferred
• Eligible for DOH Consultant Emergency Medicine classification/license in Abu Dhabi, subject to UAE PQR requirements
