Consultant Family Medicine Physician

About the role

A leading healthcare facility in Abu Dhabi, UAE is hiring a full-time Consultant Family Medicine Physician. The position is open to candidates eligible for the DOH Consultant Family Medicine classification.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive primary healthcare to patients of all ages, including diagnosis and management of acute and chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, asthma and thyroid disorders
• Carry out routine health examinations, preventive screenings and medical assessments, and develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans
• Offer preventive care, vaccinations, lifestyle counseling and health education
• Manage respiratory, gastrointestinal, cardiovascular and musculoskeletal conditions, and deliver women's health, men's health, pediatric and geriatric primary care
• Interpret laboratory tests, ECG and imaging reports, coordinate specialist referrals and ensure continuity of care
• Educate patients on disease prevention, medication adherence and healthy lifestyles
• Comply with DOH regulations, clinical protocols, infection control and patient safety standards

Required profile

• MBBS/MD or equivalent recognized medical degree
• Recognized postgraduate qualification in Family Medicine
• Board certification or equivalent consultant-level qualification; American Board, UK CCT, Canadian, Australian, European or other internationally recognized qualifications are highly desirable
• Minimum 5-10 years of relevant post-specialization experience preferred
• Eligibility for the DOH Consultant Family Medicine classification/license in Abu Dhabi, subject to UAE PQR requirements
